                                    Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University reflects the uniqueness of the traditional land-grant institution which combines professional, vocational and liberal arts pursuits. The University provides baccalaureate and graduate studies that are compatible with the times to all qualified, capable individuals who are interested in further developing their technical, professional, and scholastic skills and competencies.                                     Alabama State University

                                    Alabama State University was founded in 1867, in Marion, Ala., as a school for African-Americans. The school started as the Lincoln Normal School with $500 raised by nine freed slaves now known as the Marion Nine, making ASU one of the nation’s oldest institutions of higher education founded for black Americans.

                                    Today, Alabama State University, located in Montgomery, Ala., is a widely respected, world-class institution of higher learning which welcomes students of all races.                                     Concordia College has grown much from its humble beginnings in 1922 as Alabama Luther College.  Today, Concordia boasts a student body representing a diversity of geographic, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as the distinctive status as the nation’s only Historically-Black Lutheran College or University (HBCU).
