 At the end of my first day of riding, I ended up at the Original Nile in Elizabeth NJ! Owner Hassana Kaba treated me like family as she explained the history an her wonderful restaurant and served me some great food. I tried the Fried Chicken with Curry Gravy which was great. I also tried her special Carrot Loaf and the Bean Pie that will make you slap your momma. (I don't even like bean pie... and I LOVED IT!!!)

My first official stop o my Journey Thru Black America. Being that it was my birthday, I had to stop by one of my favorite local Jamaican Restaurants, Elma's Kitchen. Although Ms. Elma was not available, her Auntie showed me around the kitchen. Of course I had my favorite meal... Jerk Chicken, Rice and Peas, Cabbage and a Jamaican Pineapple Soda.
